چکیده

It is shown that any pair of scatter and spatial scatter matrices yields an estimator of the separating matrix for complex-valued independent component analysis (ICA). Scatter (resp. spatial scatter) matrix is a generalized covariance matrix in the sense that it is a positive definite hermitian matrix functional that satisfies the same affine (resp. unitary) equivariance property as does the covariance matrix and possesses an additional IC-property, namely, it reduces to a diagonal matrix at distributions with independent marginals. Scatter matrix is used to decorrelate the data and the eigenvalue decomposition of the spatial scatter matrix is used to find the unitary mixing matrix of the uncorrelated data. The method is a generalization of the FOBI algorithm, where a conventional covariance matrix and a certain fourth-order moment matrix take the place of the scatter and spatial scatter matrices, respectively. Emphasis is put on estimators employing robust scatter and spatial scatter matrices. The proposed approach is one among the computationally most attractive ones, and a new efficient algorithm that avoids decorrelation of the data is also proposed. Moreover, the method does not rely upon the commonly made assumption of complex circularity of the sources. Simulations and examples are used to confirm the reliable performance of our method. c © 2008 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

On the Separation Performance of the Strong Uncorrelating Transformation When Applied to Generalized Covariance and Pseudo-covariance Matrices

Traditionally, the strong uncorrelating transformation (SUT) is applied to the zero-lag sample autocovariance and pseudoautocovariance matrices of the observed mixtures for separating complexvalued stationary sources. The performance of the SUT in that context has been recently analyzed. In this work we extend the analysis to the case where the SUT is applied to “generalized” covariance and pse...

Complex ICA using generalized uncorrelating transform

An extension of the whitening transformation for complex random vectors, called the generalized uncorrelating transformation (GUT), is introduced. GUT is a generalization of the strong-uncorrelating transform [J. Eriksson, V. Rough approximation operators based on quantale-valued fuzzy generalized neighborhood systems

Let $L$ be an integral and commutative quantale. In this paper, by fuzzifying the notion of generalized neighborhood systems, the notion of $L$-fuzzy generalized neighborhoodsystem is introduced and then a pair of lower and upperapproximation operators based on it are defined and discussed. It is proved that these approximation operators include generalized neighborhood system...

Common Fixed Point Results on Complex-Valued $S$-Metric Spaces

Banach's contraction principle has been improved and extensively studied on several generalized metric spaces. Recently, complex-valued $S$-metric spaces have been introduced and studied for this purpose. In this paper, we investigate some generalized fixed point results on a complete complex valued $S$-metric space. To do this, we prove some common fixed point (resp. fixed point) theorems usin...

Ranking triangular interval-valued fuzzy numbers based on the relative preference relation

In this paper, we first use a fuzzy preference relation with a membership function representing preference degree forcomparing two interval-valued fuzzy numbers and then utilize a relative preference relation improved from the fuzzypreference relation to rank a set of interval-valued fuzzy numbers. Since the fuzzy preference relation is a total orderingrelation that satisfies reciprocal and tra...
